Joshua Fried had a small recording studio at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. A New Romance knew Joshua after temporarily playing in a band with guitarist Ron Williams (aka Buster Clyde). Joshua Fried had a small recording studio at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. A New Romance knew Joshua after temporarily playing in a band with guitarist Ron Williams (aka Buster Clyde). The band had some new songs to record so it was only natural to have Joshua record them. At first they recorded using a drum box but at the suggestion of Buster Clyde they brought in drummer J. Coleman from The IDOLS to record on two new tracks. A New Romance had some shows to do so they asked if J.C.would play drums for them. Up for the challenge of playing for both bands he said yes. But his main band remained The IDOLS. For this show the opening act was "Zeitgeist". Later Zeitgeist changed their name to "Spiral Jetty" and became a very successful recording and performing act.
