THIS IS THE STORY OF
"THE IDOLS"

It was Spring 1979.
Best friends
Fred Hoffman (Guitar, Vocal's)
and Joad Coleman (Drums, Vocal's)
had been working on writing new material
for a band they were putting together.
The two had begun looking
for a bass player but nothing jelled.
Meanwhile, Joad's brother Dan
was in various bands playing guitar.
One day the three decided to get together and jam.
Dan played the bass.
When they were done
it was clear
they had hit lightning in the bottle.
After a few rehearsals they had both
cover songs and some originals.
The band played one show
under the name Stillborn".
Soon after it became very apparent
they would have trouble
getting booked under that name.
So they renamed themselves "The Idols".
From there they played various
clubs, bars and frat houses,
made a television appearance,
recorded at CALF Studio's (
http://www.calfaudio.com/),
 and recorded with
Bobby Comstock (
www.ilike.com/artist/Bobby+Comstock)
and Steve Steward (
www.cdbaby.com/cd/ssteward).
Unfortunately,
only the CALF Studio's recordings currently exist.
While performing with The IDOLS,
Joad began playing drums
for another band, "A New Romance",
In 1981 both bands left home
but eventually broke up.
Mick returned home.
Dan an Joad stayed and joined
David Giovacchini and Ron Williams (a.k.a. Buster Clyde)
to form "Again and Again and Again".
